OGIC helps companies with innovation and technology challenges to:
- develop completely new technologies
- improve existing equipment/services, or
- import and adapt proven innovations from other industries.
Our role is to help you find the right academic partner, with appropriate research capability, facilities or specialised equipment, and to fund up to 50% of the academic project.
We work with 14 Scottish universities, and you can find out more about our university partners here.
Will your project qualify?
To qualify for funding, projects must be innovative, involve university input and, ultimately, be of benefit to the oil & gas industry. Most projects we fund are at Technology Readiness Levels 2-6.
If a project meets these criteria, OGIC can directly fund 50% of university project costs. Funding can cover:
- academic research
- the use of test and lab facilities
- a range of university staff inputs.
Funding is placed directly with the University partner and not with the company.
There is more information on our project application and review process here. If we can’t fund your project, we may be able to signpost you to other funding sources.
