Blue Gentoo focuses on helping operators and developers of oil and gas fields to manage hydrate risks. OGIC supported it to work with researchers at the University of Aberdeen’s School of Natural & Computing Sciences to develop its Integrated Hydrate Platform solution.

Resolute Energy Solutions is developing new solutions for plugging & abandonment (P&A) and well integrity. It has a project to deploy a swellable granular subsurface seal; this could potentially be used in drilling and production stages, as well as in well integrity and abandonment.

Phoenix RDS is a specialist upstream oil and gas subsurface consultancy, which develops and delivers optimised reservoir solutions for the full life cycle of oil and gas developments. One novel project it wanted to develop was the potential to improve Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) outcomes by optimising and managing polymer floods using improved Flow Control Devices (FCDs).

Tendeka is a leading provider of completions systems and services to the upstream oil and gas industry. It identified an opportunity to perform a computational investigation of the performance of the Autonomous Inflow Control Device (AICD), which is used as a valve for oil production applications.

TechnipFMC is a global leader in subsea, onshore/offshore and surface projects. Identifying the need to develop a method of suspending the umbilical in the water column and transferring the weight, TechnipFMC approached OGIC and partnered with the University of Aberdeen to undertake concept design, detailed design, prototype manufacture and testing of their load bearing connector.

The Weir Group identified an opportunity to develop a coating material combining a 2D nanomaterial with polymers that would either reduce or eliminate gas permeation and worked with OGIC and Heriot-Watt University as their academic partner.

RAB-Microfluidics identified an opportunity to revolutionise petroleum testing and analysis services by making conventional laboratory procedures mobile, rapid and routine. RAB-Microfluidics engaged with OGIC and collaborated with the University of Aberdeen as its academic partner.
