Sebastian Geiger

Institute of Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University


Professor Sebastian Geiger is the Director of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering (IPE) at Heriot-Watt University.  As the Energi Simulation Chair for Carbonate Reservoir Simulation, he also leads the Carbonate Reservoir Group at IPE, serves as the co-director of the International Centre for Carbonate Reservoirs, and frequently provides consulting and CPD training for the energy industry.  Sebastian received a PhD degree from ETH Zurich in 2004 and an MSc degree from Oregon State University in 2000.  He is a co-editor for Petroleum Geoscience and Transport in Porous Media, and served on numerous technical committees for EAGE and SPE.  In 2017, he received the Alfred Wegener Award from the EAGE for his pioneering research.
