NIS Directive – Protecting Essential Services
February 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join CGI and Robert Gordon University to learn about the NIS DIrective.
In May 2018, the UK introduced the Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 as required by the EU NIS Directive and as part of the National Cyber Security Strategy. This is in response to a significant change in the cyber security threat landscape over the last few years.
The financial penalties for non-compliance are significant and similar to the recently introduced General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Organisations are acting now to ensure they comply with this new legislation.
Richard Holmes, Cyber Security Services Lead for CGI UK, will outline the aims of the NIS Directive, the new legal requirements and the stakeholders impacted, including Operators of Essential Services and their supply chains. Sectors impacted by the regulation include Energy, Utilities, Transport and Healthcare.
